Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti | History and Background
Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti was founded in Bucharest in 1948. It was under the name of Petroleum and Gas Institute. The Institute’s main aim is to train the engineers required by the petroleum and gas industry in Romania. The foundation of this institution was mainly based on the history of Romania. Also the tradition of Romania and the technical and scientific level of the accomplishments acquired by the petroleum and gas industry in Romania.
In 1992, the Petroleum and Gas Institute of Ploiesti became the University of Ploiesti. Then it became new faculties and sections in the fields of economic studies and humanities were set up. For a better definition of tradition and structure, in 1993 the University of Ploiesti changed its name into the “Petroleum-Gas” University (PGU) of Ploiesti.
Petroleum-Gas University is a higher education institution with an established and renowned prestige.
This University was looking for Romanian young people. It was also looked for young people from foreign countries in cooperation relations with Romania.
