Portugal offers mellow Mediterranean atmosphere, wonderful coastline and urban communities. Beside the numerous noteworthy locales and territories of normal excellence, the nation is also known for its traditional academic history and heritage.

The University of Porto tops among them, being joint 301st in the world. With a long history of reputed universities, Portugal's higher education system was ranked the 35th best in the world in the first edition of the QS Higher Education System Strength Rankings.
Portugal also owns quite a few well reputed polytechnics. This ensures that the education is facilitated in both theory and practice. Polytechnics has specialized courses to prepare students for specific career paths. But there’s also a lot of overlap as both universities and polytechnics offer degrees in engineering, management and humanities subjects.
Portugal has been running its academic processes according to the Bologna Process all through its colleges and polytechnics. As a result, Portuguese colleges offer three levels of degree. These are:
Bachelors level, Masters level and Doctorate level.
English is not so widely spoken in Portugal. Most courses, especially at bachelor’s level are taught in Portuguese. Though graduate level, it’s more common to find English-taught programs.
